Our Special Vineyard Selection wines are made from grapes harvested from older special vineyards which over decades proved to produce superior quality.
Method Cap Classique Steen 2008
After making wine from a specific Chenin vineyard in 2007 it was clear that it had the most lively minerality and pure fruit flavours, even whilst the grapes were still green. Tantalizing mousse releases a vibrant mix of fruit flavours which ends with a clean, integrated aftertaste.
This barrel-fermented and matured wine has been carefully crafted from grapes harvested from a single vineyard of old bush vines planted on the farm Optenhorst in 1952.
Over time these vines have produced wines of superb quality. Blackberry aromas nurtured by gentle winemaking and maturation in small French-oak barrels make for a rich, balanced wine of generous character.

I tasted some superb wines while in the Cape but the most memorable was Bosman Family Vineyards Pinotage 2009” - Peter May, Honorary Member of the Pinotage Association
Pungent prune and sour cherry aromas with aniseed, caramel and cinnamon notes with enough acidity to ensure that the natural sweet wine is not sticky but ends of quite refined.
